Haruka walked down the hall of an old abandoned hotel. She had no idea what to expect. She was contacted earlier in the day and was told to meet said contact in this building at night. She stopped to listen for any signs of life. Nothing. Complete silence, not even the noises from the city where the hotel rested. It was almost as if this old place was removed from reality itself. She shook her head at the thought. Silly nonsense like that couldn't resonate through her head at this moment. She needed to focus, and keep her reputation afloat. The room ahead of her was enormous, must've been the dining room. There sitting at a table, was a man in a black cloak. "That must be him", Haruka thought to herself as she approached him. The man looked up, "Are you the one called Haruka?", he asked. "I am. What's the job and more importantly, the price?".

He removed the cloak and handed her a contract. "I need you to sign these first.". She grabbed the papers and noticed the big bold words at the top, System Corporation. Her eyes darted back at the man as she took out Atlas, her prized weapon. "So, I'm contacted in the middle of the day for a job of utmost importance, told to meet you in an abandoned hotel on the other side of the world alone, and it turns out you work for the most corrupt company on the face of the Earth. Why should I do anything for you after what you've done to everybody?", she pointed the gun at the man's forehead. The man didn't even nudge. "Because," he began, "If you do what I tell you, and succeed, you will be paid handsomely. Do not do what I say and we both die. Simple as that.". She stepped back a bit and looked at the papers again, then back at the man. "What're these for?", she asked, "are your people gonna come after me when the job's finished? Will you post my information all around the world, put a price on my head, and get everyone to come after me so your secrets are protected?" The man chuckled at her question. "Of course not." He said with a smirk, "we simply need you to solve a problem." "What kind of problem?". "Sign the papers, then we talk."

Haruka finally gave in and signed. "There." she said putting her gun away. "Now tell me why this is so important." The man put the papers in a case. "As you know," He began, "System Corp. has run into a... slight glitch. A small group of rogues have been giving us trouble and are on the verge of victory. If they win, we'll be wiped off the map.". "Oh boo hoo hoo for you." Haruka remarked. "Good riddance as far as I'm concerned.". The man stared blankly at her, "Their leader is named Michelle Vence, and we need you to travel back in time and kill one of her ancestors.". Haruka laughed at that. "Seriously? You want me to go back in time, when that's not even possible, and kill some unlucky punk? How stupid do you think I am?". The man pulled out a watch, "I don't think you're stupid at all. This is all you will need.". She took it from his hand and looked it over. "How's a watch going to help me?". "That's no ordinary watch. That's a prototype time travel device disguised as a watch. Use that, and you'll be able to go anywhere, anytime.". "If it's a prototype, how can you be sure it works?", she asked him. "We've done extensive testing." he told her, "It works, and more importantly, you can keep it if you succeed." She stared in awe at the device in her hand. This little thing, capable of going back, or forward in time. The things she could do with this. "Alright.", she said, "I'll do what you want. But you should know that you'll need to pay me money on top of this too right?". "Of course.", he responded, "We're prepared to pay you one million credits for this deed.". "One million credits?!", she gasped, "Okay just tell me who you want dead." She could barely contain her excitement. "We need you to eliminate this woman." He said as he pulled out a screen. "Her name is Astrid Vence. She is in the year 2015. Go there, kill her anyway you can, and come back. Then the job will be finished, and you'll get your money. You'll be doing System Corporation an enormous favor.". "Fine.", she said as she stood up and activated the time machine on her wrist, "I'll see you soon. Astrid Vence is as good as dead.".
